hotpot on a cold night
after personally hand-delivering our multi-cooker (a.k.a. steamboat/steamer/soup cooker) to London via the new SQ A380, we decided it was time to break it out for something other than steaming supermarket-bought char siew baos. so we invited F over for steamboat!
we met at Chinatown to get all our groceries. sliced beef, sliced pork belly, golden mushrooms, prawns... they came up to about 25 pounds. (which is a whopping sum after converting it back to SGD. but i've managed to stop that habit, otherwise i'd nvr actually get down to buying anything)
it was a great meal, especially since the temperature that night was slightly chilly, below 10 deg. and it was a nice trial run for when F's gf, KF, arrives in London in Feb, the dead of winter.
