a taste of home
i wasn't feeling particularly hungry. but perhaps it was due to the cold weather, it seemed like a good idea to make a bowl of chicken mee sua.
the Ling family loves chicken mee sua. on the rare occasion when everyone's home for Saturday lunch, it's invariably be this dish or chicken rice that appears on the table. my younger sis would disappear into the kitchen to help with the process of cooking the rice vermicelli as the two youngest members of the Lings are really fussy about the consistency of the noodles; i've been known to turn away a whole bowl just because the noodles are soggy.
well... it turned out pretty well. and even though i substituted chinese wine with chardonnay, it brought back memories of home when i had my first whiff of the steaming bowl of noodles.
if only i remembered to add in a hard-boiled egg. darn.

hahah. it's really simple la. just boil ur chicken and mushrooms, together with some ginger. then boil ur mee sua separately so ur soup doesn't get too cloudy. and when they're done, combine!
