updates updates!

i have to say, it's been AGES since i last blogged. hahah. and if not for the vast amounts of free time that i foresee in the near future, i doubt i would have updated. *blush*

but that's mostly coz there is so much to update on! well... basically, i think i can safely assume that whoever is reading this blog right now would be a close friend who is still randomly surfing to this site, hoping in vain that i'd update sometime. haha. then in that case, you'd know that J is no longer single and no longer in her beloved Singapore (yes, i get a thrill everytime i see the 'Welcome Home' sign flashing on the electronic signboard above when I arrive at the immigration checkpoint after an overseas trip). I'm now otherwise known as Mrs C and living in London!

big change for me man. but i'm slowly adapting to it... slowly adapting to household chores... i admit that i haven't really done many household chores in the past. was just reading my b1's blog entry on it being her first time changing bedsheets on her own, and i totally understand all the tehnical questions whizzing through her mind on how to do it. for you guys who have experience doing the chores, you won't understand how lost you can get when faced with doing something the first time. mostly, the question that pops up is 'how do i even get started??' gotta keep learning i guess...

the thing that amazes me is that i can cook! simple dishes admittedly. but i've never really tried my hand at cooking. making pasta, yes; it's just a matter of boiling the pasta and heating the sauce. and i have a history of baking cookies... but never chinese dishes. i always thought chinese cooking was a tad too complex for me. however, right this moment, i have a lovely pork belly with mushrooms and dried scallops braising on the stovetop. cool eh? haha. hope it turns out good though.

of coz it helps that my hubby can cook. alot better than me in fact. he just made this really complicated pork rib with tomatoes and salted bean dish for dinner, whereas i just popped a slab of salmon in the oven. i think it's cool how you can select your piece of fish in the supermarket and choose the flavored butter you want, and the store assistant will seal them in a oven safe bag. all you have to do when you get home is pop the whole package in the oven. i love it!

okok i'm rambling here. but well.. i'll be updating alot more, so do check back soon!
