my saturday past - a narrative
it's been sometime since J and LP took a shopping trip down at Orchard on a sat. and it was a pretty interesting one. i saw quite a few colleagues on the streets, as well as von t and her little sis. i must say, i miss the feeling of meeting someone familiar on the streets, exchanging grins of recognition and stopping to say a quick hello.
however, the major downer to shopping on a sat is the crowd... whoa. u have to queue for changing rooms, which can be a major pain. esp if the person in front has like 10,000 items of clothing to try on and is effectively oblivious to the snaking queue behind. the noise and the bustle of wkend shopping can also be headache-inducing, depending on the mood u're in.
we headed to Crystal Jade for an early dinner coz LP had skipped lunch. ordered la mian in spicy sour sauce, xiao long bao, chicken broth and red bean pancake. pretty decent, nothing particularly exciting though. that's when RC a.k.a. mr hugo boss dropped in. haha. the poor guy had been shopping alone and made himself sound so lonesome and sad, i just had to ask him to join us. besides, i was curious as to what sorta clothes he wears other than his exorbitantly priced office wear. well, he sat down for a few mins, just enough time for my LP to do a quick assessment before zooming off to meet his uncle in front of his fave shop. hahah, hugo boss, what else?
dinner plans were previously made with a certain mr JG to meet up at bishan and drive down to Chomp Chomp. but let's just suffice to say that plans were changed. my LP and i ended up driving down to Holland V for supper instead, where we got bullied twice when parking lots were snatched from right under our noses. LP was fuming mad man. mad enough for the both of us. we only managed to get parked after more than half an hr of waiting. bleah!
supper at HV swensen's was a pretty mellow affair. wat with JG looking dead tired, LP persistently trying to capture candid shots of us and a very gluttony J. just 3 frens hanging out together. haha, actually it was more of just 2 frens hanging out together and 1 person who was there just to foot the bill. we checked out wala wala after that, coz J's been curious to see what it looks like after the numerous raves by wl. but decided to go in another day instead.
J quite liked the drive back. there's a certain pleasure in driving along familiar roads, knowing where you're headed. instead of going slowly, pausing to read every signboard and hoping not to miss a turn off. by the time we got to adam rd, it was a breeze. hahah. familiar roads and buildings, reminiscent of driving back from campus. a good fren beside you. croaking along to tunes on the radio every once in a while to keep awake...
got home at slightly past 1:30am. i could get used to this whole 'driving at night' thing. hahah.

Generally well-written. The narrative could have been complemented and made more interesting if photos were included:)
