in the midst of the clamour...

J had a rare reflective moment.

it was another typical library session. with me by the innermost seat of the table and cranberry opp. selvi, wan en and meijun were there too. yiren and chucky at a separate table. my weird friend lurking around...

and yet, somehow, it hit me really strongly that i was going to miss these sessions of hanging out in the school library. the library holds some of my fondest university memories. it has been my place of refuge since the modified term. where i was able to enjoy the companionable presence of friends and yet shut out the world just by plugging in my earphones.

i remember...
- studying during the modified term when it was so empty, we could each take a table for our own
- trying our darndest to sneak food past the librarians
- talking and laughing loudly despite signs that advise otherwise
- being on guard duty, sending out alerts in the event of certain sightings
- bringing a ton of books in the morning with lofty ambitions of covering a few subjects
- leaving with the same ton of books wondering when i'd ever learn that there was no way i'm gonna be able to cover more than one subject a day
- coming early in the morning and having the library to myself

besides, how can you not love a library that plays Semisonic 'Closing Time' to indicate that it's time to be on our way?

p.s. J would like to thank cutest guy in IO for going the extra mile and dropping the chatty bunch of us at TP even though it's definitely not on the way to Holland V. now we know which buttons to push when we need a lift from you. *winkz*
