feet firmly planted
J's back from bangkok. and not gonna be flying anywhere for some time. thailand was pretty ok. the hotel room was fantastic! very spacious and beautiful. we were given the deluxe rooms and my roommate turned out to be someone i met previously from internship.
my groupmates for the training turned out to be alright. all, except for one. *ahem* let's suffice it to say that J was mighty tempted to stick her 2B pencil into him several times. i realise i have a low tolerance for fake smiles and people who try too hard to be PR. the same goes for weird accents that alternate between an American and China accent. ugh.
anyway, i bought lotsa office shirts, 7 in fact. *blush* couldn't resist when they were priced at about S$6 each. wanted to buy the imitation birkenstocks, but realised they didn't fit too nicely. oh well...
tried out a Thai massage too. scary stuff i tell ya. half the time i was trying to stifle laughter or yelps of pain. i thought the end was over when my masseuse, who's about twice my size, actually sat on top of me! picture poor J lying on her tummy with her face down on a pillow, squirming around while being sat upon. (brings back memories of our Famous Four pillow fights. ha.) but yeah, there i was trying hard not to yelp out in pain while she pressed down on my nerve endings. and yet i was gritting my teeth so that i won't be the first one to chicken out of the massage. big mistake man. my foot cramped twice right after the massage. bleah.
last night in bangkok, the bunch of us from SMU trooped down to hotel sofitel for a cozy chillout night on the 37th floor with a great view of bangkok. we talked, chatted, laughed and gossiped. plans for more such gossip sessions are in the works!
the major part of my time was spent in training, leaving only the evenings and fri aft for shopping. sighz. anyway, bangkok's a great place for a short 3 day shopping getaway. anyone up for going over? heh
