turning to the dark side
yes! J has finally caught the much anticipated star wars ep 3. and for free somemore! thanks to a very generous ec. heh. the movie was great! so much lightsaber action, it left me dazzled. the main role of this episode was to fill in the gap of why anakin skywalker a.k.a. darth vader eventually turned to the dark side. during which, both ec and i turned to each other and concluded that we'd probably turn to the dark side too, so darth vader's not to blame. heh. anyway, how can u hate ani for turning evil when all he was trying to do was to protect the one he loved; a very beautiful padme, i might add. i thought this was one of the best episodes among the 6, and rightly so, since it brings an end to george lucas' fave proj.
anyway, we shopped ard abit and then walked down to AO bakery at killiney for dinner. i've been wanting to try the place for some time. and i was pretty surprised to find that prices were pretty cheap. ec and i ordered the katsu curry set and yakiniku set respectively. i liked my yakiniku, beef stir-fried with mushrooms. the beef was tender and well flavoured, while the sauce was sweet and went well with rice. J couldn't resist slurping up the last few spoonfuls of gravy. heh. a pretty good deal for it's price, i say.
we were walking to the mrt when the loud sound of a car horn, along with squealing tyres caught our attention. both of us turned around in time to see a taxi hit a red van that was turning out onto the main road. the impact was so great that the red van was bumped about 1m away and its driver's door was smashed, along with the taxi's headlights. very scary man. both of us just stood shell-shocked for a moment. and then a girl our age came out of the van. and i could just see the thoughts forming in her head 'shit! what am i gonna do? how am i gonna tell my parents?' she looked devastated. good thing a guy went to her rescue and provided her with some help. i would just shrivelled up and died on the spot. it must have been pretty traumatic. ec and i weren't involved in any way, and we're still playing that scene in our mind.
lesson of the day: never take driving for granted. it's a pretty dangerous activity.
