techie heaven

after rushing to collect passports and handing in documents for employment applications, ernie and i went down to sim lim to meet cranberry, who was being harangued by an overenthusiastic digital camera salesman. he kept offering one freebie after another in order to get us to buy the digital cam. so it was the two BLest friends to the rescue!

we trawled the whole of sim lim, going up to the uppermost level in a bid to get the lowest price. yeah, prices are inversely proportionate to the level of location. we went into shop after shop to ask for quotations. it got a little hairy when this uncle started talking in dialect, while i looked on in slight bewilderment.

and somehow, i feel it's best to have a guy around when in boys' shopping heaven. one particular salesman had the cheek to price his A510 at $400, when it was clearly advertised in newspapers that the retail price was $399. and when confronted with that, he retorted 'which newspaper?'. now, J doesn't like being discriminated against just coz of her gender. so what if we don't spend hours reading up on hardware zone and cnet asia? we girls know how to compare prices.

ok fine, maybe we appeared more interested in the camera case provided than the actual cam. but com'on, what's the point in having a snappy camera with an obiang case? bleah.

Ssshhhhh, now the whole world has heard it from the internationally acclaimed journalist's blog tt I was looking at the case. But then again, a hard case would make or break the camera. What's wrong with being concerned about tt?
