best burger ever!
went down to blu jaz once again with wl and ernie. and once again, it did not disappoint. in fact, it just gets better and better. the place was full when we got there. however, i cheered up when i saw the pretty waitress, who came out to apologise. we got a seat pretty quickly.
some of u know how long J takes to decide when it comes to ordering food 'so many choices, i cannot pick'. pple often start asking if i'm trying to memorise the menu. but this time, it was easy peasy. coz i've been craving for a burger for the past wk or so after reading abt this, and noticing almost every customer order burgers previously, i'd already made up my mind to try one. so this narrowed my choices by quite a bit.
i ordered the hulk ($6.50) - a 5 inch across beef burger with cheese and guacamole sauce, and my signature mango-lime smoothie. we had caesar's salad and mozzerella cheese sticks (recommended by my personal food guide) to share.
everything was great, as usual. but what really stood out was the burger!! it came with a side of fries, but the true star was definitely the burger. YUM!! and i can't stop raving abt it. the beef patty was about an inch thick and clear juices actually run out when you bite into it. there were small bits of fat in it, that impart a moist and flavourful dimension to the meat. J's tastebuds were fooled into thinking that it was a real steak. it was fantastically delicious, i'm telling ya. u know how u can't really taste the meat in mac or BK burgers, well you can really taste the beef in this one. so different from the dry, overcooked, crumbly patty we're subjected to in fast food. it was burger heaven for J!
a special mention of the guacamole sauce that came with it... (for those of you who are like me, too shy to admit you have no idea what guacamole is, here's some help.) the sauce was thick and creamy. it looked like wasabi, but tasted like egg mayo. it complemented the beef really well! anyway, i wouldn't call it a sauce, it was more of a paste spread thickly on the meat such that it oozes out when you take a chomp. yeah, no lady-like eating here, with knives and forks, whatever. just pick up your burger and chow down.
best burger i ever had! but don't take my word for it, coz my burger eating experience is severely limited. all u fellow carnivores should troop down to 71 dunlop street to form your own opinion. and don't forget to ask me along, J can't wait to go back!

p.s. not forgetting a big thanks to sugar mummy of the night for picking up the tab. cranberry, you missed out man.
