CNY day 1
highlights of the day include:
1) standing in a row with my sisters while an aunt comments to her kid that 'this is what will happen when you grow up'
apparently she meant that the height difference between siblings will disappear...
2) starting on wedding plans
'must remember to invite her to your wedding dinner hor!'
3) having the point that 'chinese eat anything' driven home
aunt laid out a spread of CNY goodies she brought back from shanghai which consisted of duck's stomach and dried beef in candy packaging
4) learning that in some families, the parents are always right
watching my younger cousin receive a sharp slap on the cheek coz he was too shy to perform the chinese drums in front of the relatives
5) getting caught red-handed
'don't think i didn't see you swipe that last piece of bak kwa when we were leaving the house...'
6) realising i don't seem like a 'wifey/gf' sort of person
my older sis gets questions like 'do you have a bf?' and pple suggesting matchmaking sessions with their so-and-so's who might seem a good match
me, i get questions like 'so where will you be working?' and 'when you start work must wear skirts liao hor...'
so... did anyone get the 'do you have a bf?' qn this yr?

hahah, so cranberry got a lot of bf qns? quick go get one lah! then you won't have to fend off the qns liao. and we'll also be able to fulfil our wish to be gossip fodder as something other than 'the europe grp'. heh.
ya man ernie, i wonder what the reaction would be if i just flat out said 'sorry, i'm not interested in guys. girls suit me better.' now, that would really be interesting... hahahah.
